There’s always something happening at The Bookstore at Fitger’s, and our events are a key benefit to shopping at an Independent Bookstore. We have a unique opportunity to connect readers and writers through hosting a variety of public events, including book signings, author readings, local book launches, and seasonal storytimes for children. Whether you’re here to meet a favorite writer or discover a new voice, our events offer a welcoming space for book lovers of all ages.

Book Signings
Our most popular gatherings, book signings, are relaxed and welcoming. You’ll find the author seated near our doorway, ready to chat, sign books, and meet readers of all ages. These informal events usually last about two hours and often take place on Saturday afternoons, but sometimes can happen on any day.
Author Talks
Author Talks bring lively conversation to the Fitger’s Brewery Complex in a cozy space just steps from the bookstore. We host both free and ticketed talks, including our beloved Tuesday Night Author Talks series, held several times a year. For $15, guests can enjoy an evening featuring two authors, appetizers, and the opportunity to purchase books directly at the event.
Spotlight Events
Spotlight Author Events are truly special occasions. Reserved for notable authors and exciting new releases, these ticketed evenings take place in the elegant Spirit of the North Theatre, offering an unforgettable literary experience.
Book Clubs

Speed Booking
Think speed dating—but with books! Our popular Speed Booking nights let 20 readers meet 20 handpicked titles, spending just 2½ minutes with each before deciding which ones to take home. Your ticket includes one book of your choice, tasty appetizers, and a signature cocktail. Some events spotlight a specific genre, while others mix it up for every kind of reader. We host Speed Booking about six to eight times a year, and it’s always a lively, book-loving crowd.
Happening All Around Fitger’s
We are proud to be part of the larger Fitger’s Complex, home to live music, art markets, food and drink festivals, and other seasonal happenings.
